The Honda Odyssey - The Most Successful Candidate In Drive Car Of The Year History

Honda Odyssey Successful in DCOTY

The Honda Odyssey is now the most successful candidate in Drive Car of the Year history, having just won the ‘Best People Mover’ category for the fifth year running.

"The Odyssey's blend of value and functionality make it a winner for families looking for extra seating space, while the car-like dynamics were praised by judges," said Mr. Toby Hagon, National Editor for Drive.

"A recent price reduction further consolidated the Odyssey's position as the best people mover on the market."

Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said the latest award was validation of the Odyssey’s popularity.

"The Odyssey is one of Honda's most well-loved models and the fact it has won this award five times running is testament to that. It is a vehicle known for its driveability, styling, safety and technology features and the Honda reputation of reliability."

"We know that our customers in this segment look for a quality vehicle that is good value-for-money, packed with safety features and will transport their family comfortably. The Honda Odyssey ticks all these boxes and looks great at the same time."

The Odyssey is priced from $37,990 driveaway and the Odyssey Luxury from $45,990 driveaway.

The Honda Odyssey launched in Australia in 1994 and immediately took out Wheels Magazine's Car of the Year award in 1995 before going on to win a swag of other awards including NRMA’s 'Best Passenger Wagon' from 1996 – 1998 and Australia's Best Cars 'Best People Mover' from 2004 – 2007.

This latest award comes just months ahead of the arrival of the all-new 2014 Odyssey, which for the first time will feature an eight-seater in the line-up broadening the appeal of the popular people mover even further.

"This award is definitely a reminder that the all-new Odyssey has some big shoes to fill but having seen and driven it I am confident our customers are going to embrace the new model as much as they have this one," said Collins.
